Virginia Ellen (Johnson) Mahoney

Virginia E. Mahoney, (nee Johnson), 78 passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at her home in Kearny, NJ surrounded by her family.

The funeral service will be held in the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, 663 Kearny Avenue, Kearny on Thursday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.

Ms. Mahoney was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and lived in Kearny her entire life.

She was a Human Resource Administrator for Deloitte & Touche at the World Financial Center in New York City for 20 years before retiring in 2004.

Virginia served several terms as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church and also volunteered regularly at the church’s thrift shop.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Cepin, and her husband, Dave, three grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin, and Bradley Cepin and one niece, Mira Baidwan, and her children, Evan and Brooke Baidwan.

She was predeceased by her sister, Linda Diamond.

Due to the current restrictions placed on occupancy in public spaces by the State of New Jersey in the ongoing efforts to limit the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19), seating at the First Presbyterian Church will be limited for Virginia's service.
