Theresa J. (Umowski) Anderson

Theresa Joan Anderson, (Umowski), 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Legacy Oaks of Azle in Azle, Texas.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove
Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, June 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in Jersey City NJ, Mrs. Anderson lived in North Arlington for many years before moving to Texas to be closer to her grandchildren.

Theresa earned her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Elizabeth and later earned three graduate degrees.  She was a Professor of Computer Science at St. Peter’s College, served as the Department Chair, and retired after 20 years of service.

Known as “Terry” to all who loved her, she is survived by her son Thomas, his wife Nancy, and two grandchildren, Meagan and Daniel Anderson.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband, John Anderson and her sister Barbara.
