Steven Pekerosky, 96, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Cecilia Church, 120 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ on Thursday, June 17 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
Born and raised in Edwardsville, PA, Steve has lived in Kearny for the last 72 years.
Mr. Pekerosky served in the United States Army during World War II.
Steve worked as a Dispatcher for Motor Freight Express in Jersey City, NJ, and later Elizabeth, NJ for 20 years before retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Wilson-Gugelman Post 1302, V.F.W. in Kearny.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Pekerosky, one brother, Paul Pekeroski, one sister, Helen Sambo, three grandchildren, Veronica Valli, Laura Dibiasi, and Frank Pekerosky and six great-grandchildren, Wilson, Jackson, Ryan, Christopher, Nicholas, and Madison
Steven was predeceased by his wife, Veronica (Olenik) Pekerosky, one daughter, Veronica Hulley, one son, David Pekerosky, two brothers, John and Joseph Pekerosky, and two sisters, Anna and Irene.
