Obituary

Stefan A. Rokoszak, 90, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020, in Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday, September 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mr. Rokoszak was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. He has lived in Lyndhurst for the last 60 years.

Stefan served as a Seaman in the United States Navy from 1948 until 1950

He was employed as a mechanic at Bellezza Company, Inc. in Kearny for 25 years before retiring 27 years ago.

He was a member of the Queen of Peace Council No. 3428, Knights of Columbus, North Arlington for 54 years and was a Sir Knight of the Monsignor Peter B. O’Connor Assembly No. 1543 for 53 years as well as a member of the Calo Sass Post No. 4697, VFW, North Arlington, the Polish American Citizens Club in Lyndhurst and the Holy Name Society and the Fife and Drum Corps. both of St. Michael’s Church.

Stefan is survived by his wife, Marie (nee Malaniak); his children Diane Lammer, Stefan Rokoszak, and his wife, Janet Monaghan, Robert Rokoszak and his wife, Maria, Gary Rokoszak and his wife, Kathleen and Anthony Rokoszak and his wife, Lorraine. He was the grandfather of Christopher Lammer and his wife, Jen Olsen, Ryan Lammer, Justin Lammer and his wife, Katelyn, Evan Rokoszak and his fiancée, Angie Subeshan, Aaron Rokoszak, and his fiancée, Caitlin Barbaz, Nicholas Rokoszak and his wife, Nicole, Bryan Rokoszak and his wife, Lauren, Dana Gobrecht and her husband, Timothy, Gary Rokoszak, Jr., Kylie Rokoszak, Sophia Marut, Terry, and Sabina Monaghan, Shannon and Truman Partridge, III and Heather Monaghan. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Owen and Alexander Rokoszak, Luca Gobrecht, Maxwell Olsen Lammer, Theo Rokoszak, and Terry and Sam Monaghan.

Mr. Rokoszak was predeceased by his son-in-law, Stephen R. Lammer on July 3, 2010.
