Stanley Domaracki, 98, passed away on June 22, 2022.
Relatvies and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday morning, June 24 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
Stanley was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old. He grew up in Newark, NJ and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in both Boston, Massachusetts, and Iceland. He worked in the Brewery Industry, enjoying the many beer breaks the company allowed, until he retired in 1985. Stanley met his late wife Helen at the Polish Falcons around 1946 and they raised 3 daughters in Kearny, NJ. Stanley was a magnet for children and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing games and telling them stories. He was very social and made many friends over his life. He earned his High School GED certificate at age 63. He was an online Checkers champion and loved to play Poker and Uno. At the age of 91, he taught himself how to play Bridge. He was very handy and loved to fix things and putter around the house. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is predeceased by his mother, Rose, his wife Helen (nee Lesko), his wife Anastasia (nee Domaracki) and his daughter Helene Gorny. He is survived by his daughters Lorraine Murphy (Michael) and Susan DeLeonardis (Paul), son-in-law Bill Gorny and stepson Chester Domaracki (Linda) and 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
