Simplicia (Samong) Ramirez

Simplicia Ramirez, (nee Samong), 86, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, in University Hospital, Newark, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, February 1 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Mrs. Ramirez was born in Bulacan, Philippines. She immigrated to the United States and lived in Jersey City, NJ before moving to Kearny 32 years ago.

Simplicia is survived by her husband, Ernesto Ramirez, four children, Elvira Balin and her husband, Efren, Evelyn Bustos, and her husband, Edwardo, Emily Ramirez, and her husband, Abner and Ernesto Ramirez, Jr. and his wife, Mirna. She was the beloved grandmother of Christopher, Bryan, Steven, Christian, Cheryl, Ronald, Therese, Ashley, and Justin and the great-grandmother of Gabriel, Adam, Allyson, Casandra, Aaron.
