Royd Garcia, 49 passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at his home in Nutley, NJ

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday, October 8 from 3 to 7 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Born in Newark, NJ Royd lived in Kearny for many years before moving to Nutley 16 years ago.

He was employed as a custodian for the Kearny Board of Education for the last 18 years. He was currently working at Garfield School on Belgrove Drive in Kearny where he had been for the last 4 years. Prior, he was at the High School for many years.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Stephanie (nee Lombardo) Garcia, two children, Shayna Garcia and Evyn Garcia, two brothers, William Garcia, Jr and his wife, Diane and Michael Garcia and his wife, Nicole He also leaves behind his mother, Clara Garcia and her husband, Humberto Fernandez and his father, William Garcia, Sr. He was the uncle of Jasmine, Julian, Cheyenne, Antonia, Mikayla, Jackie, and Alex.

Royd was a member of B.P.O.E. #1290 in Nutley.

He thoroughly enjoyed camping and being outdoors and especially riding his wave runner.
