DUE TO THE STORM, MRS. VELASTEGUI'S FUNERAL MASS HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3 AT 11:00 A.M.

Rosa E. Velastegui, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Paterson, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday. Sept. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Thursday morning, Sept. 2 at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, NJ at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will be private.

Born in Quito, Ecuador, Rosa immigrated to the United States in 1971 and lived in Newark. She later lived in Kearny for twenty years before moving to Wayne, NJ eight years ago.

Mrs. Velastegui is survived by six children, Ivan Velastegui (Fatima), Gonzalo Velastugi (Ana), Mario Velastegui (Maria-Dolores), Amparito Santos (Pablo), Ana Henriquez (Alex), and Cristina Taura (Francisco). Rosa was the grandmother of Christopher, Steven, Tony, Vanessa, Robert, Kathy, Matthew, Adrian, Jonathan, Nicole, Amanda, Kelly, and Sara and the great-grandmother of Angelina, Sophia, Olivia, Alyssa, Julian, Isabelle, Avery, Beckham, Easton, Sebastian, Haley, Abby, Adrian, Andrew, Natalie, Jiovanni, and Rylan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gonzalo Velastegui, and one son, Marco Velastegui.
