Robert A. Beyer, 96, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at home in Nutley, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday June 6 at 10:30 a.m. to form the procession to Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ where a Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Beyer residence, following the Graveside Service.
Born in Newark, NJ Robert lived in North Arlington before moving to Nutley 60 years ago.
Graduate class of 1947 from Queen of Peace High School, North Arlington, NJ.
He proudly served in the United Sates Army during the Korean Occupation from 1951 until 1954. Trained as a morse code technician.
As a union Ironworker at the District Council of Ironworkers of Northern New Jersey, Robert built many of the buildings that now dot the Jersey City and Secaucus skyline. One of the last projects was the walking path along the Hudson River, every day of that project enjoyed viewing the Statue of Liberty.
Mr. Beyer will be cherished by his children, Kathleen Devine, Eugene Beyer and Rosemary Ismael. He was the loving grandfather of Mary Rose Devine, Robert Devine (Brianna), Amy Beyer, Liam Beyer and Shayla Ismael and the great-grandfather of Ameila Devine.
He was predeceased by his adored wife, Irene (Carr) Beyer and his grandson (football buddy), Michael Joseph Devine.
(Great) Uncle Bob will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Life blessed and well lived, known to all as fun loving, easy going and kind to all his friends and neighbors.
