Raul "Irra" Ruiz

Raul Ruiz, “Irra”, 80, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday, March 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Thursday morning, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. then to Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Newark, NJ where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, Raul moved to Newark fifty-six years ago.

He was a laborer for Leonard Company in Newark for thirty-five years before retiring in 1998.

Raul is survived by his wife, Gloria (Valentin) Ruiz, three children, Evelyn Alvarez and her husband, Angel, Raul Ruiz and his husband, Jailer Espitia and Nelson Ruiz and his wife, Chalier, two brothers, Angel Luis Ruiz and Jesus Ruiz. He was the beloved grandfather of Ashley B., Emily A., and Angelina L. Alvarez and Brandon N. and Isabella M. Ruiz.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Dominga Ruiz, Gregoria Ruiz, Rosalina Esteves, Evangelista Esteves, Elisa Esteves, Ismael O Bdulio and Sebastian Silvestre.
