Paulo Amaral Pinto

Paulo do Amaral Pinto, 81, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at home in Kearny, NJ while surrounded by his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Sunday, March 22 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be private.

The oldest of five children, Paulo was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied and raised his family in São Paulo until immigrating to the United States in 1991 to fulfill his dream of providing a better life for his family. He led a career as an electrical engineer in the automotive industry, hydroelectric power, and consulting prior to immigrating. He lived in Harrison, NJ before moving to Kearny nine years ago.

Paulo is survived by his wife, Celia, three children, Elias (and his wife Jennifer), Fabio (and his wife Deborah) and Priscila (and her husband Brian). Paulo also leaves eleven beloved grandchildren.

Paulo is also survived by his sister Elizabeth do Amaral Rodrigues-Lima and brother Silas do Amaral Pinto. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jorlea do Amaral Pinto and Jocilea do Amaral Machado
