Paul Amos Hettesheimer, Jr. passed away on March 31, 2021, in Community Medical Center, Toms River, New Jersey.
Paul was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He moved to Newark, NJ as a young child. He later married his wife from North Arlington and raised their children in Kearny. He lived in Manchester for the last 14 years and enjoyed many winter months in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was the son of the late Paul Amos Hettesheimer, Sr. and Theresa (nee Melodick) Hettesheimer.
He leaves his wife of almost 53 years, Patricia (nee Bruning) Hettesheimer, his son, Paul Hettesheimer and his wife, Cherie, of Alpharetta, GA., daughter Brenda Gilfedder and her husband, Brian of Rockaway Township, NJ, son James Hettesheimer and his wife, Erin of Chester, NJ, son, Michael Hettesheimer and his wife, Fran of Boonton Township, NJ and daughter, Deborah Citarella and her husband, Joseph of Scotch Plains, NJ. He also leaves his brother, Mark J. Hettesheimer, Sr. (June), sister, Elizabeth “Betty" Donigan (Stephan), sister, Judy Gann (Dave), sister-in-law, Ruth Fadeski, and an uncle, Marc Hettesheimer (Lore). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Paul (Caelie), Vanessa, Brian, Rebecca, Sarah, Hannah, Thomas, Joshua, James, Michelle, Michael, Kevin, Matthew, Mark, Melanie, and Diana as well as countless cousins, nieces and nephews.
Paul Hettesheimer started as a machine mechanic at 17 years old and later became a Production Supervisor at Westinghouse in Bloomfield, NJ followed by a production Supervisor at Interbake Foods in Elizabeth, NJ until he retired in 2005.
Paul was a member of Calvary Lighthouse Assemblies of God and a strong man of faith. He was a man who deeply cared for and provided for his family and will be forever missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Sunday, April 4 from 3 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday Morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst, NJ.
