Paul Amos Hettesheimer, III passed away on March 5, 2026, in Alpharetta, Ga. Paul was born in Newark, NJ and lived in Kearny, NJ throughout his childhood.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday, March 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
He was the son of Patricia (nee Bruning) Hettesheimer and the late Paul Amos Hettesheimer. Paul was their firstborn. They experienced great joy watching him grow into the handsome, smart, and loving man that he was. They were always proud of him and all of his accomplishments.
He leaves his son Paul Hettesheimer IV of Salt Lake City, UT, daughter Vanessa Hettesheimer of West Hartford, CT and their mother Alicia Hettesheimer of Aiken, SC. He also leaves his sister Brenda Gilfedder and her husband, Brian of Rockaway Township, NJ, brother James Hettesheimer and his wife, Erin of Chester, NJ, brother, Michael Hettesheimer and his wife, Fran of Montville, NJ and sister, Deborah Citarella and her husband, Joseph of Scotch Plains, NJ. He will be deeply missed by countless uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and lifelong friends.
Paul grew up spending all his summers at Lake Wallkill in Vernon, NJ with his parents and siblings. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, and swimming. He later spent numerous summers in Long Island with his own children teaching them how to sail, fish and swim. His daughter Vanessa shared his love of sailing; she even continued to compete in college with her dad by her side. Paul loved to cook—especially BBQ. He enjoyed preparing food for tailgates with his brother, friends and colleagues and he cherished the countless hours at BBQ competitions with his son, Paul.
Paul graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a BA in Communications. He has had an extensive career as a director of sales in cybersecurity and network security for Enterprise Solutions.
Paul lived life to the fullest. Everyone who knew him loved him and will treasure the many fond memories he left behind. He will be forever loved.
