Patricia (Gonzalez) Hoyos-Hardeway

Patricia Hoyos-Hardeway (Gonzalez), 52, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Jersey City Medical Center, Jersey City, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Sunday, March 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. to celebrate Patricia’s life.

Patricia Hoyos-Hardeway walked the earth with quiet assurance. Born beneath the sun of Madrid, she carried its warmth across the sea, making her home in Jersey City, where she wove together a life of purpose, intellect, and love.

Shortly after her arrival, the Abbasi family welcomed her, and in assisting them, she began a journey shaped by service and devotion.  An attorney with a keen mind and resolute will, she became not only a steward of enterprise, but one of tireless community service. Later she had the pleasure as serving in an augmented capacity with Bergen County Partners. Later as the C.F.O. of Urban Dwelling Jersey City, she brought clarity to complexity, shaping the world with wisdom, purpose and grace. But beyond profession, Patricia’s greatest work was the love she poured into her family.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Grant Hardeway, and their sons, Mateo and Pelayo, who will carry forth the light of her wisdom. Her mother, Rosa Diez-Gonzalez, her brother, Fernando, and her sister, Cecilia, remain as keepers of her memory. She now joins her father, Fernando Hoyos Gonzalez, not in absence, but in the eternal presence of spirit.

Her life was not measured in years, but in the depth of her being, the breadth of her kindness, and the strength of her convictions. Though she has passed from sight, her essence endures—for the soul, unbound by time, is ever ascending.
