Noreen Anne Silvers, 61, Kearny, New Jersey, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, April 11th, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Noreen was born at Saint Michael’s Hospital, Newark, to Marie (nee Dunstan) and John Silvers. She was a lifelong resident of her cherished hometown of Kearny. She graduated from Queen of Peace High School, North Arlington, and had a prolific career with AT&T.
Noreen was renowned for her fierce loyalty and her endless commitment to her family, godchildren, her dog, Lovi, and her friends. She never missed an opportunity to champion the people she loved most. She was a prolific gardener, baker, and event planner. She was known for her beautifully infectious smile, her benevolent wit, and her ability to illuminate a room. She embodied beauty and altruism and will continue to serve as a quintessential example of living an honorable life that encompasses kindness, generosity, and purity of heart.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Noreen would be delighted if you would honor her memory by performing a random act of kindness and asking that individual to continue to honor her legacy. That act would be befitting of a woman who spent her entire existence selflessly serving the needs of others.
“In life, there are two deaths. The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time.” I. Yalom
