Nicholas Smirgadis

Nicholas Smirgadis, 48, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at home.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday, February 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 9 at 10 a.m. in St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Road, Clifton NJ. Cremation will be private.

Born in New York City, Nicholas lived in Kearny before moving to Newark, NJ.

He is survived by his Parents, Elizabeth (nee Carlas) Prokos and Dimitros Prokos, his brother John D. Prokos and fiancée Helder, his three sisters, Irene Ferrolho with husband Luis Nephew/Godson Dimitri and Niece Alexandra, Sister Sonya Smirgadis with Niece Kyia, and Nephews Aidan, Liam, and Luke, Sister Alexandra Brand with husband Mark and Nephews Mark and Owen.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, 701 Memorial Drive, Suite 1, Asbury Park, NJ 07712 or to Children's Specialized Hospital, 200 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
