Monica (Pena) Olavarria

Monica Olavarria, (nee Pena), 60, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020, while surrounded by her family at home in Kearny, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Thursday, October 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Mrs. Olavarria was born in the Dominican Republic and came to this country at 13 years of age. She lived in Newark, NJ before moving to Kearny in 1989.

She was the Billing Coordinator at the Broadway House for Continuing Care in Newark for the last 20 years.

Monica is survived by her husband, Jimmy Olavarria, two daughters Jenise Wiedemann and Nicole Olavarria,  one sister, Nilda Karlok,  her parents, Siprian, and Mercedes (nee Morales) Pena. She was the grandmother of Kensington Rose Villanueva and Riley James Wiedemann.
