Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday, June 29 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Interment will take place in Ecuador.

Born in Loja, Ecuador, Maria has lived in Raleigh, NC for the last 12 years,

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Root, one daughter, Stella Root, two brothers, Binicio Salas and Sandro Salas and one sister, Letty Salas.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raul Salas and Maria Adela Chimbo
