Maria (Ortega) Rojas

Maria Rojas, (nee Ortega), 70, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 in NYU Langone Medical Center, New York City.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Cecilia Church, Kearny at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Rojas was born in Ancash, Peru. She immigrated to the United States in 1995 living in Union, NJ. She moved to Kearny in 2000.

Maria was a housekeeper for SBM Site Services in Edison, NJ for the last 12 years.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Rojas; five children, Herbert Rojas (Alejandra), Jose Rojas (Violeta), Katherine Campos (Victor), Carlos Rojas (Eva) and Cynthia Rojas (Carlos Cabrera); two brothers, Eleuterio and Zacarias Ortega and two sisters, Marcela and Herminia Ortega. Maria was the grandmother of 10 grandchildren and an eleventh on the way.

She was predeceased by her brother, Enrique Ortega.
