Manuel Pons

Manuel Pons, 67, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in The Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive Kearny, NJ on Saturday, August 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Monday morning, August 18 at 9:15a.m.,  then to Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Wood-Ridge, NJ where a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Cremation will be private.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Mr. Pon’s family fled Cuba when he was just six months old and went to Spain. They immigrated to the United States two years later and lived in Washington Heights, NY.

Mr. Pons was a self employed truck driver for many years.

He is survived by his four daughters, Yalitza Pons, Yajaira Pons, Janeese Pons and her husband, Dr.  Lazaro Camacho “his son” and Yadhira Pons. Manuel was the grandfather of Noah Vasquez and Brayden Elias Medina Pons and the uncle of Steven Romeo, Samantha Romeo and Susana Milanes.
