Luis Horacio Varilias

Luis Horacio Varilias, 96, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday, May 8 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in Lima, Peru, Luis immigrated to the United States in 2007 and settled in Kearny.

He is survived by his wife, Elena Varilias, five children, Maria Valte (Tony Sr.), Alberto Varilias (Yamilet), Ricardo Varilias (Erika), Christian Varilias and Andres Varilias (Tatiana)

Mr. Varilias is also survived by seven grandchildren, Yarissa Varilias, Gabriel Varilias, Lucas Varilias, Aiden Varilias, Tony Valte, Jr., Jazmine Valte, and Arielle Valte and one great-grandchild, Sage Valte-Drye.

He was predeceased by his son, Louis Varilias
