Lucy (Durango) Sanchez

Lucy Sanchez, (nee Durango), 92, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, in Advent Health Hospice, Orlando, Florida.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday, October 2 at 8:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Cecilia Church, Kearny at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, October 1 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Born in Medellin, Colombia, Lucy immigrated to the United States in 1965 and lived in Hackensack, NJ. She has lived in Florida for the last 25 years.

Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her husband, Osvaldo Sanchez, five children, Olga Lucia Bahamon, Doris Zevallos, Aledia Diaz, Luz Marina Saavedra, and Omar Garcia.

She also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
