Linda Gomes

Linda Gomes, 76, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Tuesday, August 23 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Monday, August 22 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Born in Formariz, Portugal, Linda immigrated to the United States in 1973 and lived in Newark. She moved to North Arlington in 1988.

Mrs. Gomes was a Machine Operator for Hellas Fashions Inc. in Newark for twenty-five years before retiring in 2007.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Julio Gomes, two children, Mr. Carlos Gomes (Grace) and Mrs. Susie Fernandes, (Luis), four grandchildren, Alexia and Victoria Gomes and Emily and David Fernandes.

Linda was predeceased by her daughter, Maria Isabel Gomes (9 months old) and three sisters, Ana De Jesus Veiga Rodrigues, Celeste Veiga Rodrigues Costa and Maria Julia Veiga Rodrigues.
