Julio Torres-Garcia Obituary

Julio Cesar Torres Garcia, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at the age of 74. He was a resident of Gambrills, Maryland, and was born on March 20, 1951, to the late Ruperto Arturo Torres Crespo and Gloria Matilde García Tamayo in Ecuador.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, August 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. then to Saint Aloysius R.C. Church, Jersey City, NJ where a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Enurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Julio is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Maria Elena Lara de Torres, and siblings Gloria Matilde Torres García and Arturo Torres García. He is survived by his brother Iván Marcelo Torres García.

A devoted family man, Julio leaves behind three daughters, Elena Viviana Dumantt (husband Timothy F. Dumantt), Maria Andrea Arzuaga (husband Luis Arzuaga), and Julie Elizabeth Ramnarine (husband Romel Ramnarine). His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Julian A. Figueroa, Shaylin G. Arzuaga, Shayna Early, Luis Arzuaga Jr., Aeden J. Arzuaga, Viviana E. Dumantt, Elias R. Ramnarine, and Isaiah N. Ramnarine, as well as his great-grandchildren: Eliana A. Caulfield, Joelle J. Early, Paxton P. Early, and Marley J. Early.

Julio was the heart of his family—a man of kindness, strength, humor, and unwavering love. He immigrated to the United States to build a better life for his family and devoted his life to providing for them. Family was always his priority. He was a proud Ecuadorian, deeply connected to his roots, and an avid soccer fan who never missed a match. He also took immense pride in becoming a U.S. citizen.

To his children and grandchildren, Julio was more than a father and grandfather—he was their hero. He was known for his adventurous spirit, whether riding roller coasters with his grandchildren or taking on challenges with a smile. His presence lit up every room, and his words of love and encouragement will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Julio’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the family he adored beyond measure.
