Johnny Robert Arana

Mr. Johnny Robert Arana, Sr. died at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Visiting will be held in the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, from 8:30-9:30 am on Friday, September 1, 2023. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Church in Kearny at 10:30 am on Friday. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny.

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Mr. Arana emigrated to the United States in 1992 where he worked for FedEx in Newark, NJ. He was a devout Catholic and a dedicated member of Senor de los Milagros at St. Cecilia’s Church. Mr. Arana was also a faithful supporter of Peru’s national football team and Universitario de Deportes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Olga (nee Pavia) Arana; sons, Jose Arana (Lauren), Segundo Arana (Amanda) and Johnny Arana, Jr; granddaughter, Thalia Isabella Arana and brothers, Miguel Alvarez and Gary Arana.
