John Chunka

John Chunka, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny, NJ on Tuesday, December 1 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

A Celebration of John's Life will be held at a later date.

Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Mr. Chunka has lived in North Arlington for the last 56 years.

He was a Draftsman for 35 years at Western Electric in Newark, NJ, which later became AT & T. He retired in 1995.

John was a member of  B.P.O.E Lodge # 1992, North Arlington, and a founding member of Pop Warner Leaders football league and a coach in that league for many years. He was a past president of the North Arlington Little League and coached in the league for many years.

John was predeceased by his wife Jean (Ricewick) Chunka. He is survived by his sons, Mark Chunka and his wife, Deborah, and Brian Chunka and his wife Nadine. John also leaves behind his grandson, Andrew-John Chunka, and his son's niece and nephew, Nicole and Zachary Bolognese, who he loved like grandchildren.
