Jesus Roman Hernandez

Jesus R. Hernandez, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Thursday, March 5 from 4 to 8 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Columba’s Church, 25 Thomas Street, Newark, NJ on Friday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Mr. Hernandez was born in Santa Rosa de Lima La Union, El Salvador. Hr immigrated to the United States in 1970. He lived in Brooklyn, NY for 5 years before moving to Newark, NJ in 1975.

He was a cook for Polaner, the jam and jelly maker in Roseland, NJ for twenty-five years before retiring in 2003.

Jesus is survived by his wife, Rosario (nee Cruz) Hernandez, one daughter, Maribel Pena and one son, Miguel Angel Hernandez. He was the brother of Miguel Angel Hernandez and Juan Victoria Hernandez. He also leaves behind 7 granddaughters.
