Ivan Antonio Cruz

Ivan A. Cruz, 72, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at home in Newark, NJ while surrounded by his loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Thursday, May 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. then to St. Michael’s R.C. Church in Newark where an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in Mount Holly, NJ, Ivan has lived in Newark for the last sixty years.

Mr. Cruz had a passion for photography and was a professional photographer and owned and operated the Wedding Center in Kenilworth, NJ for many years. Earlier in life he was a Pharmaceutical Assistant at Summer Avenue Pharmacy in Newark.

He served as President of the V.S.M.C.A. in Newark.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Rodriguez) Cruz, two sons, Ivan A. Soto (Lisa Aponte-Soto), Manuel J. Cruz, two daughters, Xiomara B. Cruz and Eliana Rodriguez, one brother David Cruz and one sister, Migdalia Ramos. He also leaves three grandchildren, Anjelica J. Soto, Donovan H. Rodriguez and Demi R. Rodriguez and nieces and nephews and extended family.
