Humberto Fernandez

Humberto Fernandez, also known as “ Soquete” 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, April 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Humberto came to the United Sates in 1988 and has lived in Kearny for the last 38 years.

He was employed as a machine operator at Keystone Printing in Newark, NJ before retiring in 2016. Prior he worked in the same capacity at Seton Leather company in Newark for fifteen years.

Mr. Fernandez is survived by his wife, Clara Garcia, two stepsons, William and Michael Garcia and grandchildren, Jasmine, Evyn, Julian, Cheyenne, Bee, Antonia and Mikayla Garcia. He also leaves his aunt, Nancy Serrano and cousins, Anna Diaz and Jose Serrano.

Humberto was predeceased by his stepson, Royd Garcia.
