Henry E. Richard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, partner, and friend, Henry “Hank” Richard, who entered eternal life at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the age of 84.

Born on May 30, 1942, in Newark, New Jersey, Hank was raised in Essex County and before making his home in Tom’s River he spent many years living in Bloomfield. A roofer by trade, he was known for his gift of conversation, his love of the oldies and willingness to dance just about anywhere. 

He had a way to make you smile and a knack to enjoy the moment. 

Hank enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid fan of horse racing, never passed up the chance to try his luck with a wager or a lottery ticket, and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Cole. Above all, Hank loved spending time with his family and took great pride in watching it grow through the generations.

Hank was predeceased by his wife, Ethel Richard, and daughter Kimberly. 

He is survived by his loving life partner, Terry Gentile, and his seven children: Henry and Gail Richard, Debra Richard and Mike Andron, Eugene and Zaida Richard, Marie Monisera, Annmarie and Ray Rivera, Eric and Danielle Richard, and his sister, Agnes Konopka. 

He was the proud grandfather of Emilee Richard, Mackenzie Richard, Evan  Richard, Michael Andron, Ashley Binda (Richard),Russell Richard, Kristal Richard, Susan Lipard (Monisera) Will Monisera, Elizabeth Monisera, and Marisa Rivera, and the cherished great-grandfather of Ace and Keanu.

Hank’s legacy lives on through the family he loved, the memories he created, and the stories he enjoyed to tell to those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and unwavering love for his family.

In accordance with Hank’s wishes, cremation will take place privately. There will be no formal services planned at this time, however details regarding any future remembrance of life will be shared at a later date. His family encourages those who knew and loved him to honor his memory by spending time sharing stories and enjoying life’s simple pleasures—just as Hank did.
