Gerald D. O'Connell

Gerald O’Connell, 75, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021, in Saint Clare’s Denville Hospital, Denville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday, April 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny on Saturday, April 10 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born and raised in the Greenville section of Jersey City, NJ, Gerald moved to Lyndhurst, NJ when he married his wife Geraldine. They later lived in Landing, NJ for twenty-five years before moving to Netcong in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (nee McHale) O’Connell, two children, Ann H. Sanginari and her husband, Dean and Joseph G. O’Connell, and his wife, Rosemary. Gerald was the grandfather of Caden and Owen O’Connell and Charles and Thomas Sanginari. He was the brother of Patricia O’Connell and Elaine O’Connell. 

Gerald was predeceased by his sister, Denise Ottaino.
