Frank R. Marano

Frank R. Marano, 99 entered eternal peace on Thursday, August 14, 2025.Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday, August 16 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. then to St. Lucy’s R.C. Church, Newark where a 10:30 Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

He is predeceased by beloved wife of 53 years Angela (nee Cuozzo) who passed away on August 8, 2025. Also, his parents Giovanni and Antoinetta Marano, brother Blaise, sisters Mary Lovallo, Kathleen Martucci, and Gaetana Urso. As well as his two daughters Kelly Marano and Karen Marano McGinley.

He is survived by three sister in laws, Barbara DeFuria, Norma Jean Cuozzo, and Lucia Corsaro. Also, his grandchildren Michael Spiga, Meredith Shadiack, Kelsey McGinley and nine great grandchildren.

Frank was born on April 10, 1926 and was raised in the First Ward in Newark, New Jersey.  He graduated from Seton Hall University in 1953 and served in the Navy during World War II.

He was the head jeweler of Capital Rings in Newark for 35 years. He enjoyed international travel, reading, and watching his favorite teams the NY Giants and NYY Yankees. Being Italian was something he took pride in and loved spending time with his family.  He was a fun and loving uncle to his many nieces, nephews, their spouses, and children.
