Francisca (Vega) Zafra

Francisca  Zafra, (nee Vega), 88 passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Newark Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 58 2^nd Avenue Newark, NJ on Sunday, March 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday morning at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in Cuba, Francisca immigrated to the U.S. in 1960 and lived in Newark before moving to Kearny, NJ in 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Ibis Zafra (Jose Sepulveda) and Maria Cortes (Anibal), one sister, Teresa Vega, two grandchildren, Desiree Cortez and Christopher Jorge, and one great-granddaughter, Savanna Stanizale.

Mrs. Zafra was predeceased by her husband, Luis Zafra, and her daughter, Enid Zafra.
