Ellen C. (Leonard) McDermott

Ellen McDermott, (nee Leonard), 90, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at Alaris at Belgrove, Kearny, NJ.

Born in Kearny, NJ, Mrs. McDermott was a life-long resident.

Ellen was a secretary at R.C.A. in Harrison, NJ for many years before retiring.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas F. McDermott, a Captain in the Kearny, NJ Fire Dept.  and Gerald M. McDermott and his wife, Jean; one sister, Marie Elbert, and two brothers, Thomas and Frank Leonard. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Michael and Jamie.

Mrs. McDermott was predeceased by her husband, Gerald McDermott.

Funeral arrangements and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ is private.

Donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Ellen’s name would be greatly appreciated.
