Elisa Margaret Filippone

Elisa (Lisa) Filippone passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2023, at her home in Kearny NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday, November 1, from  4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in Belleville, Elisa spent much of her childhood in Nutley. It was there that her three passions of life took shape, the first being athletics. She excelled at many sports and was especially proficient in hockey, skiing, and baton twirling. Secondly, under the tutelage of both her father and the school system, Elisa developed an undying love of music. From playing the flute, keyboard, and other instruments to listening to an online radio show and Headbangers Ball with her fiancé on Fridays, this passion stayed with Elisa for most of her life.

However, Elisa's greatest enthusiasm is for animals. From Doris the tarantula, dogs Jack and Chrissy, to cats Olivia and Chatty, there was seldom a time that there was not a pet by Elisa's side. Such was her passion for animals that she had begun researching a career as an animal behaviorist.

Elisa is survived by her daughter Nicole and father Alan Viani, brother Louis, and fiancé Greg Taylor. She is predeceased by her father, Louis Filippone, 

her mother, Barbara (nee Purcaro), husband, Czeslaw (Chester) Dziadosz, and son, Samuel (little Sammy) Rivera.
