Edward Negron Obituary

Edward Negron, affectionately known as Eddie, departed this world on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Hoboken, NJ Eddie built a life full of love, dedication, and service to others.

Eddie was a pillar of strength and a loving partner to his wife and best friend, Maria C. Viana. Together, they raised a beautiful family in Kearny. Eddie's journey in law enforcement spanned 24 years, beginning with the East Newark Police Department before he transferred to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. In 2022, he retired as a Sergeant, leaving a legacy of commitment to justice and public service.

An avid supporter of the NY Jets, Eddie's enthusiasm for the team was unparalleled. He attended countless football games, cheering on his beloved Jets with an unwavering passion. Yet, as strong as his devotion to the Jets was, it paled in comparison to his love for family.

Eddie was the epitome of a devoted family man, finding immense joy in supporting and encouraging his sons, Devin Michael Negron, Chase Viana Negron, and Mason Viana Negron. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines at their games or attending their various activities, Eddie's presence was a constant source of love and inspiration.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Viana; his sons, Devin, Chase, and Mason; his mother, Margarita Negron; and his brothers, Elliot and John Negron. Eddie's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Visiting hours to celebrate Eddie's life will be held at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home (585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny) from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 14. In honor of Eddie's passion for the NY Jets, guests are encouraged to wear Jets fan gear or the color green.

Let us remember Eddie Negron as a man who lived life with purpose, who loved deeply, and who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
