Eduardo Jorge Da Silva, 50, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Center for Hope Hospice in Elizabeth, NJ after a courageous battle with cancer.
The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Tuesday, October 5 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Kearny at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m.
Born in Monte, Murtosa, Portugal, Eduardo immigrated to the United States in 1977 and lived in Newark, NJ. He later moved to Kearny where he lived for 19 years before moving to Carteret, NJ three years ago.
Mr. Da Silva was a supervisor at Henkles and McCoy in Cliffwood, NJ for the last 10 years and a member of Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local 472 in Newark, NJ.
He is survived by his three children, Devon Da Silva, Logan Da Silva and Kailyn Da Silva, five brothers, Jose Da Silva, Manuel, Da Silva, Carlos Da Silva, Agostinho Da Silva, Rui Da Silva and one sister, Guida Barroqueiro.
He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Delfina (nee Baptista) Da Silva, and one brother, Antonio Da Silva.
