Donna (Volpe) Maier

Donna Maier, (nee Volpe), passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Sunday, September 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Born in Newark, NJ, Mrs. Maier later lived in Kearny for many years before moving to Whiting, NJ. She has lived in Harrison, NJ for the last four years.

She was a bank teller at Kearny Bank in Harrison for ten years before retiring.

She is survived by her son, Michael O’Donnell and his wife Donna (nee Gilmore), two brothers, Gregory and Buddy Volpe and two sisters, Francine Wheling and Della Leonard. She was the grandmother of Christina O’Donnell, Briana Silva and her husband, Marc, Amber O’Donnell, Michael O’Donnell, Jr. and Haley O’Donnell. Donna was the great-grandmother of Carson, Zachary and Charlotte Silva and Michael O’Donnell, III.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Maier and her son, Brian O’Donnell.
