Donna Oliver (Vanderwall) Holmes

Donna Oliver Holmes (nee Vanderwall), 73, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in St. Clare’s Dover Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday, December 26 from 2 to 6 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Born in Kearny, Donna lived in North Arlington, NJ then Kearny before moving to Rockaway Township, NJ twenty years ago.

Mrs. Holmes was a sales associate at Bed, Bath & Beyond in Rockaway Township for the last five years. Mrs. Holmes was a Hostess and also worked in the road stand at the former Eagan’s Tavern in North Arlington for many years. She also ran the cafeteria at St. Stephen’s Elementary School in Kearny.

She is survived by her daughter Kristin Burden and her husband, Robert, and one grandson, Dylan Burden.

“Donna Mamma” will be missed by Christina Burden, Randy Besta, and Alexus Romano.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Lionel William “Skip” Oliver and James Holmes.
