Custodia De Barros formerly of Souto, Arcos De Valdvez, Portugal entered into eternal peace on Friday, December 27, 2024, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ while surrounded by her loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, December 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday morning, December 31 at 9:30 a.m. then to Holy Cross R.C. Church, Harrison, NJ where a 10:30 Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
Ms. De Barros immigrated from Portugal in 1972 and settled in Harrison.
Custodia is the beloved mother of Carlos De Barros, Maria Vallillo (Michael), Rosa Cruz (Peter), Jose Manuel De Barros, Geraldo De Barros, Lourdes Brady, Maria Amalia Sheldrick (Christopher) and Paul De Barros (Priscila).
She is the loving grandmother of Phillip Vallillo, Michael Vallillo (Natalie), Nicholas Vallillo (Samantha), Joseph Vallillo (Courtney), Catherine Fonseca, Samantha Barbosa (Michael), Jose De Barros, Theodore De Barros, Joshua De Barros, Carmen De Barros, Alyssa Angelucci, (Nick) Sean Brady, Stephanie Brady, Alexa De Barros, Savannah De Barros, Connor De Barros, Summer Sheldrick, Skye Sheldrick, Zachary Sheldrick, Christopher Sheldrick, Jessica De Barros, and Matheus De Barros.
Custodia is great-grandmother to Faith and Adelina Vallillo, Hugo Vallillo, Dallas Vallillo, Mateo Barbosa and Max Barbosa and she loved their visits and loved seeing their pictures and videos. Custodia did not get a chance to meet her Great Granddaughter, Celia Angelucci, before her passing, but her mother and father and the entire family will endeavor for Celia to know her Great Grandmother through their memories.
Custodia is also survived by her sister, Amelia Cunha (the late Antonio) , brother, Manuel De Barros (Fernanda), sister, Maria L. Rodrigues (Francisco), and brother, Abel De Barros (Maria Leonore) and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Manuel Rodrigues De Barros and Maria Da Silva Lobo and one brother, Adriano De Barros.
