Claire J. (Haggerty) Munley

Claire J. Munley (nee) Haggerty, born in Scranton, PA, of Kearny, passed away on October 23, 2021. She was 86 years old.

Originally from Scranton, PA, Claire moved to Kearny in the early 1960s. Claire was a devoted parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church in Kearny. She worked for Prudential, prior to marriage, and later Preserver Insurance. Claire most enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Claire was predeceased by her husband, James Munley in 1981, and her son, Joseph in 1993. She is survived by her sons, Bob Munley and James Munley; daughter, Laurie Munley Ritacco; grandchildren, Joseph Munley and Caroline Ritacco; along with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday morning,  October 27 from 8:00 am to 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Stephen's Chruch, Kearny at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ
