Christian Joe Pereira

Christian Joe Pereira, age 44, passed away entering his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Christian was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and cherished friend to many. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Kearny, NJ. Interment will be private.  Visitation to celebrate Christian's life will be held on Friday, March 6 from 4 to 8 p.m.at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny.

Christian is survived by his mother Laurinda (Lorie) (Rebelo) Pereira (Robert Kinloch), Grandmother Laurinda (Vaz) Rebelo, sister Calla Marie Pereira (Josef), brother Chad Jeremy Pereira (Melissa), nieces Alyara, Jolia, and Gianna, nephew Nico Joe, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Joe Pereira and his grandfather, Manuel Rebelo.

Christian grew up in Kearny and was active throughout his formative years in both wrestling and football. He went on to wrestle for Kearny High School and Johnson and Wales University, in Providence, RI. His love for these two sports continued throughout his life.

Christian's best friend was his brother. They worked alongside each other as longshoremen for the past 10 years. 

Christian Joe enjoyed traveling and exploring the world, riding his motorcycle and working out at the gym. What Christian loved most was his family, especially spending time with his nieces and nephew. He will always be remembered as a smart, funny, deep, and caring soul. Christian will be immensely missed.
