Carmen (Rey) Fernandez

Carmen Fernandez, (nee Rey), 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at her home in Miami Beach, FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Saturday morning, August 1,  from 9:30 to 11:000 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Born in Cambados, Spain, Mrs. Fernandez immigrated to the United States at age sixteen and lived in Newark, NJ. She later moved to Kearny where she lived for 35 years before moving to Pittstown, NJ. She has lived in Miami Beach for the last 10 years.

Mrs. Fernandez was a self-employed seamstress and dressmaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Delia McDonald, and her husband, Robert Muraro, one sister, Claudia Romero, and one grandson, Ryan McDonald.

Carmen was predeceased by her husband, Aurelio Fernandez, and three siblings, Laureano Rey, Marina Farina, and Clementina Duran.
