Avelina Cabral, (nee Balingcongan), 76, died on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.
The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday, April 2 at 8:45 a.m. A Blessing will be offered at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 9:45 a.m. Interment will take place Saturday morning, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ Relatives, and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Thursday, April 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. Face masks and social distancing will be required.
Born in Manila, Philippines, Avelina immigrated to Guam in 1980 and lived in Paramus, NJ for two years before moving to Kearny in 1982.
She was a Policy Support Specialist at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey in Newark, NJ for many years.
Mrs. Cabral is survived by two sons, Angelito B. Cabral, Jr. and his wife, Darlene and Reginald Cabral, and his wife, Rowena. She was the grandmother of Ryan, Reed, Kylie, Christian, Jayce, and Kaley and the sister of Mario Balin, Ruben Balin, Oscar Balin, Eduardo Balin, Cesar Balingcongan, Cely Tay, and Susan Venzi. She was the companion of James Pecora.
She was predeceased by her parents, Pio and Ana (nee Mendoza) Balingcongan, and her siblings, Dr. Estelita Villazor, Dante Balin, and Efrem M. Balin.
