Austin Sroczynski Obituary

Austin Michael Sroczynski, 19, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Belleville and lived his entire life in Kearny, NJ.

He graduated from Kearny High School and was the starting goalie for the ice hockey team from 2014 until 2017.

Austin was a receiving clerk at Tele-Measurements in Clifton, NJ.

He is survived by his parents, Denise (nee Donnelly) and Frank Sroczynski; one sister, Danielle Curry Pickel and her husband, Connor Pickel; grandparents, Catherine and Daniel Feenie and Edna Sroczynski. Austin also leaves behind many aunts, uncles’ cousins and friends.

Austin was an incredible young man with a kind generous heart. He loved listening to music and making people laugh. He was an avid sports fan and supported the Pittsburgh Steelers, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and the New York Rangers.

Austin’s spirit will live on in many lives he will touch through organ and tissue donation.

Due to the restrictions recently placed on occupancy in public spaces by the State of New Jersey in the ongoing efforts to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Austin’s funeral arrangements are private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Austin’s name may be made to Epilepsy Services of New Jersey, 50 Millstone Road Building 300, Suite 301, East Windsor, NJ 08520 (epilepsyservicesnj.org) or to the NJ Sharing Network Foundation, 691 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ 07974 (njsharingnetwork.org).

A life celebration for Austin will be held on May 31, 2020, his 20th birthday.
