Antonio DeOliveira Obituary

Antonio DeOliveira, 55, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in his home in North Carolina after a valiant battle with Alport Syndrome and its complications, including kidney failure and esophageal cancer.

The cremation was private; however, a memorial service will be at Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, April 12th. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm. Face masks and social distancing will be required.

Tony was born on October 4th, 1965 in Newark, New Jersey to Jack and Julia DeOliveira. On June 8, 1989, he married Clara DeOliveira. Together, they raised three children.

Tony was a drummer and graphic designer. He loved animals, the solar system, and the ocean. His collections included shot glasses, foreign coins, and Monopoly. He was an avid music lover and New York Mets fan. Known for his quick wit, infectious humor, and his kind, compassionate spirit, Tony will be missed and remembered by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, Clara DeOliveira, two brothers, Jack DeOliveira and Jack Southwell, and Father Joaquim (Jack) DeOliveira Sr. He was the proud father of his three children, Jessica, TJ, and Taylor DeOliveira, and beloved Grandfather to his granddaughter, Lidia Molina. He was predeceased by his mother, Julia DeOliveira.

Tony’s wishes were for this to be a time of celebration, not mourning, and has requested for those attending to not wear black formal wear. Band t-shirts encouraged! In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  https://team.kidney.org/campaign/Antonio--Tony--DeOliveira-Memorial
