Angela (Grisiglione) Giglio

Angela Giglio, 87, (nee Grisiglione) passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, in Christ Hospital, Jersey City, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Tuesday, January 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Aedan’s: The St. Peter’s University Church, 800 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City, NJ on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Weehawken Cemetery, North Bergen, NJ.

Born in Catania, Italy, Angela lived in Pistoia, Tuscany for 10 years before immigrating to the United States in 1965 and lived in Brooklyn, NY and then Secaucus, NJ before moving to Union City, NJ in 1968. In 2001, she moved to Lake Huntington, NY before returning to Secaucus in 2016.

Angela was a tailor working in partnership with her husband, Pietro at their family business, Pietro Giglio Custom Tailoring in Union City, for thirty-two years before retiring in 2001.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Pietro Giglio, two sons, Carmelo Giglio and Giuseppe (Joe) Giglio, and his wife, Nora Gelperin. Angela was the sister of Bettina Grisiglione and Piera Maimone. Angela was blessed with many nieces and nephews, and her grandson, Dylan Giglio, whom she loved very much.

She was predeceased by her sister, Carmela Grisiglione.
