Abelardo Moreno

Abelardo Moreno, 57, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at University Medical Center, Newark, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Thursday, October 17 from 5 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 18 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Columba’s R.C. Church, 27 Thomas Street, Newark, NJ 07114. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny, NJ.

Mr. Moreno was born in San Marcos Guerrero, Mexico. He has lived in Newark since immigrating to this country 34 years ago.

He worked as a carpenter for Arnold Contract, a furniture store in Irvington, NJ for the last 26 years.

He is survived by his wife, Melba (nee Castillo) Moreno and three children, Katherine Moreno, Meybel Morales and Abelardo Castillo. He was the brother of Deli, Zuly and Otilia Moreno and the grandfather of Abigal and Genesis Moreno.
