William F. McGeehan, 81passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his home in Pleasant Mount Township, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Mr. McGeehan was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Kearny for many years before moving to Mount Pleasant Township in 1993.

He served in U.S. Army as a Paratrooper from 1954 until 1956.

William was a Fireman for the Kearny Fire Department in the Fire Alarm Division. He began as a Lineman in 1972 and then was promoted to Asst. Superintendent before retiring as Superintendent in 1993.

He was a member of Frobisher Post No. 99, American Legion and FMBA Local 18 both of Kearny.

William is survived by his children, Wendy MacConchie (Wayne), William F. McGeehan and Keith R. McGeehan (Linda); siblings, Elaine Pearce and Paul McGeehan. He was the grandfather of Tyler McGeehan, Connor MacConchie, Erin Gilmore and Lief Marie McGeehan. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis R. (nee Herbster) McGeehan.
