Viola T. (Apruzzese) Disbrow

Viola T. Disbrow, 82 (nee Appruzzese) passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her home in Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 10:00 a.m.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Mrs. Disbrow was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and lived there until moving to Kearny in 1994. She has lived in Little Egg Harbor Township since 2006.

She was an administrative assistant, serving in positions of great trust and exhibiting remarkable integrity under 9 mayors for the City of Jersey City from 1977 until her retirement  at the end of 2005.

Viola was a member of the Italian American Society of Jersey City.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years Vincent Disbrow, whom she built a loving home with for their five children whom she adored, Lori, Vincent, Thomas, Joseph, and Carmine. With a heart full of warmth Viola welcomed Donna, Eileen, Shirley, and Elaine into her extended family upon their marriages.

Indicative of her unending supply of love, Viola took special pride in her role as grandmother, doting on Brielle, Alexis, Nicolette, Marilyn, Mackenzie, Emily, Sofia, Sean, and Gabriella in whom she instilled the same values as she did her own children.
